Oral Presentations
We will use a software called vMIX which allows us to record your presentation with you. The only thing you need is to prepare your oral presentation and PowerPoint, and you need a computer with a camera and speaker.
You will have the option of creating an E-poster for the Congress. Please see Poster Presentations for instructions.
All presenters have been contacted by email with further instructions. Please contact [email protected] if you have not received an email from us.
Oral Poster Presentations
An oral poster presentation is a short, pre-recorded video presentation of 2 minutes with 1-2 slides presenting your abstract. We will show the pre-recorded video and ask you to be available for live discussion/Q&A after the screening. Deadline for uploading the video is 9th September
All presenters have been contacted by email with further instructions. Please contact [email protected] if you have not received an email from us.
Poster Presentations
Due to the virtual nature of the conference we are only accepting Electronic Posters (E-Posters) in
PDF format.
Poster Submission Deadline: 9th September 2021
The poster should be a clear visual presentation of your submitted abstract and should meet the following criteria:
Tittle of the Poster
- It is recommended to keep the title of the poster same as in the submitted abstract. Slight
modification which does not change the idea of the abstract is also allowed.
Poster size and format
- Poster must be submitted in PDF format
- It is recommended to make your poster in PowerPoint (Landscape or Portrait) and then
save it as a PDF before uploading it into the Presenter Portal - Make sure that you do not exceed the limit of 5 PPT slides for your E-Poster.
Your Information
- The top of the Poster should display, in the lettering of 18 Bold (Times New Roman), the
following information: Title of your Paper, Name(s) of the Author(s) and Affiliation(s).
Lettering
- Kindly use both UPPER and lower case letters for general content, as all-capital text is difficult
to read. It is recommended to use 14 Times New Roman font style for the content of the poster. - Make sure there is enough contrast between the colour of the text and the poster’s background.
Text and presentation should be in ENGLISH only.
Content of the Poster
- Make sure that the specific sections (such as the background, methods, results, and
conclusions) are easy to locate in the poster. - Try to keep the text easy to read and concise. The poster should have a clear message, a
logical layout and be easy to comprehend. - Avoid the use of full sentences and rather use short text in bullet point format.
- Avoid using watermarks that may detract from the readability of your poster.
Illustrations
- Illustrations are the most important part of the poster and will attract the most attention.
Colourful charts and graphs are the easiest to read. Explanatory illustrations should be used
instead of text whenever possible.
Video URL
It is possible to add a video URL with a short presentation of yourself and your Poster. However this is optional.

All presented abstracts will also be published in the journal on Tropical Medicine and International Health (TMIH) on the Wiley Online Library. The journal will be available on the first day of ECTMIH 2021.
The abstract data can be reported on after the specified embargo date and time when the abstract appear on the virtual platform on the first day of ECTMIH 2021. If the authors themselves prefer to submit their communication to a peer review before the congress takes place, it is acceptable if this is communicated to us ([email protected]) and the journal.
Violation of the embargo may result in the abstract being withdrawn from the congress and/or other measures deemed appropriate. It is not considered a violation of this policy if an abstract or information thereof is presented elsewhere or is part of a manuscript that has already been submitted, if acceptance is still pending at the time of the regular abstract submission deadline.
Embargoed materials as well as results and information related to sessions at any meeting or event organised by ECTMIH 2021, are strictly confidential and cannot be disclosed in any manner or for any purpose prior to the lifting of the embargo by ECTMIH 2021. Only basic information such as title, presenter, and time/place of the presentation may be published before the embargo is lifted.
Press Releases
All embargo dates and times are given on official media releases. Official media materials will be made available to registered journalists only. When asking for third party comment on releases before the embargo has lifted, journalists are requested to ensure that those interviewed understand and accept the embargo conditions.
